Overview
The Calouste Gulbenkian Museum displays Calouste Sarkis Gulbenkian's private collection, featuring art from over five thousand years, including works from Egypt, Greece, Rome, Mesopotamia, the Islamic East, Armenia, the Far East, and Europe, with notable pieces by Rembrandt, Rubens, Turner, and René Lalique.
The Modern Art Center houses the largest collection of modern and contemporary Portuguese art, showcasing works from the early 20th century to today. It features pieces by Portuguese artists like Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso and Paula Rego, as well as works by English, French, and Armenian artists, encouraging a multicultural view of contemporary art.
