Overview
Sail into Vancouver's maritime history at the Vancouver Maritime Museum in the picture-perfect Vanier Park on the Vancouver waterfront. Learn about the profound relation-"ship" between humans and the sea, as you explore model ships, an extensive collection of maritime art, retired vessels, a huge library, and archives.
Outdoors, you'll find the NASA undersea research vessel Ben Franklin, and the boiler of the Beaver, the first steamship in the Pacific Northwest. The famed St. Roch is a National Historic Site. This RCMP vessel was the first vessel to circumnavigate North America in the early 20th century and helped to connect distant communities in the Canadian Arctic. It makes you realize just how far we've come with communication!
