Overview

Guadix is one of the oldest human settlements in Spain. The most particular thing about this city is its wonderful cave-houses, still occupied nowadays and that is the most characteristic point of its neighborhoods. This monumental city conserves an interesting
historical and artistic heritage, its fortified towers from the 11th century, from where you can admire the lovely views of the meadow, the city and Sierra Nevada.
Guadix offers the possibility to travel back in time to know different cultures and civilizations just walking along its narrow streets and its big monuments. The religious architecture is the protagonist in Guadix thanks to important buildings such as the Cathedral and the churches of Santa Ana, Santo Domingo and San Francisco.
The Megalithic Park of Gorafe is an archeological site for tours located in Gorafe town. It is one of the best examples of the Megalithism in the South of the Iberian Peninsula because of the quantity of funerary monuments.
