With more than four million LEGO® bricks, the LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Oberhausen is the ultimate indoor LEGO® playground for families with children. Two exciting rides, various themed play areas and a unique 4D cinema are waiting to be explored by LEGO® fans of all ages.
In the colorful world of LEGO® bricks, there are no limits to creativity and imagination. At the LEGO® factory, enthusiastic LEGO® friends can produce their own real LEGO® Duplo ™ brick and take it home as a souvenir. The MINILAND offers the miniature versions of the most famous buildings from the Ruhr area and Rhineland. You can even marvel at the Cologne Cathedral, built from over 272,000 stones by our expert model builder. Visitors can also take part in our daily model building workshops and get great tips and tricks from real professional model builders in order to be able to build even tricky models themselves. Perfect for all ages, young or old.
Two exciting rides are waiting to be discovered: In the "Kingdom Quest", brave adventurers join the royal army. Your aim is to save the pretty princess in a thrilling laser battle against evil skeletons and giant trolls! Points can be collected with the laser by aiming at the evil opponents.
Then reach the skies inside the magical carousel "Merlin's Apprentice": The faster you pedal, the higher you fly round after round. Whoever conquers gravity has taken the first step to become Merlin's best wizard apprentice.
Another absolute highlight for all senses is the LEGO® Studios 4D cinema. Here, children and adults sit side by side in a cinema where it rains, storms and even snows during the shows.

At SEA LIFE Oberhausen, the largest German SEA LIFE aquarium, visitors can experience the impressive biodiversity of the underwater world on a journey from the Rhine to the tropical waters. There are more than 5,000 animals from all over the world to discover in over 45 pools and aquariums.
Visitors of all ages can cast unique insights into the life underwater without getting their feet wet: from local rivers to the fascinating biodiversity of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and the dazzling life of the Amazon. An impressive journey from the Rhine to the tropical waters. Majestic turtles can be discovered as well as rays, seahorses, jellyfish and piranhas. The lively pair of otters is a special highlight: visitors might spot the couple juggling with pebbles.
The largest German SEA LIFE aquarium with more than 45 tanks and over two million litres of water also houses the largest shark nursing facility in Germany. In the 148m² large shallow water pool, visitors can marvel at the babies of blacktip reef sharks and cat sharks, among others. When visiting the unique 360-degree view underwater dome, visitors can also catch a glimpse of the youngest offspring.
The redesigned mangroves theme area represents the natural nursery for sharks as well as a birthplace and feeding place for marine animals. Since mainly small shark species use mangroves as a hide-out, SEA LIFE Oberhausen informs the visitors about the protection and preservation of these endangered plants.
Don’t miss out the daily feedings, where it can often get wild: what is our rays' favourite food and what do baby sharks eat? Our aquarists answer all questions about the diverse sea creatures and provide interesting facts and background information during the exciting feeding shows.
