Harry Potter Train & Scenic Highlands Day Tour from Inverness

This day tour departs from Inverness.

Enjoy a full-day of stunning scenery and fresh Highland air, as we travel all the way around Loch Ness and along the idyllic West Coast by coach. Our journey reveals ancient ruins, a poignant war memorial, beautiful beaches and a hidden waterfall – with untamed mountains never far from sight. Not only will you watch the Jacobite Steam Train as it crosses the Glenfinnan Viaduct, you will later hop aboard and experience it for yourself. Made famous by the Harry Potter films, and voted one of the world’s most scenic railways, this is a trip you’ll never forget!

Overview

We depart by coach from Inverness at 7.30am and begin our journey along the world-famous Loch Ness, stopping for photos above the ruins of Urquhart Castle. We continue west, and visit the Commando Memorial which overlooks the Nevis Range; home to the UK’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis.

Next, it’s time to set your sights upon the Jacobite Steam Train and hop aboard the train at Fort William. Your journey through magnificent landscapes will end in the fishing port of Mallaig where you can try fresh seafood for lunch or explore the town.

We then take the stunning ‘Road to the Isles’ towards Glenfinnan viaduct to watch the train cross the wonderful viaduct and wave farewell.

The beautiful scenery continues into the evening with a stop in Fort Augustus to see the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness up close. Finally, we visit the Falls of Foyers and Dores Beach on the banks of Loch Ness, arriving back into Inverness around 8.00pm.

We cannot guarantee that those who booked together will be sitting next to each other on the coach as we do not allocate seats.
Please be on time returning to the coach for all itinerary stops. The guide will have the time displayed on a clock
Collapsible wheelchairs can be accommodated when accompanied by someone who can assist them to board and disembark.
Checking in for your Tour
Please just bring your Reference Number and photographic ID.
Please note that for any tours visiting a whisky distillery, photographic ID (Drivers Licence or Passport) may be required to ensure participation in the whisky tasting activity.
Students must also bring a must also bring a valid ISIC/ISE/ITIC or you will be charged the full price for your tour and an administration fee of 25 GBP.

1 x medium case / + 1 x sma x small carry-on bag. Maximum 15 kg.
Travel insurance cover is not included in your tour. It is advisable for you to have travel insurance.
