Loch Ness Cruise, Urquhart Castle & Outlander Day Tour from Inverness

Join us on a jam-packed journey in the Highlands, to enjoy many iconic Scottish experiences in just one day. Our adventure begins at the legendary Loch Ness, where you take a cruise to view the ruined Urquhart Castle; prime monster spotting territory! After lunch in beautiful Beauly. Learn the true story which inspired Outlander at Culloden Battlefield, and attempt your own journey through the stones at Clava Cairns. We return to Inverness in the early evening.

Overview

Depart central Inverness and journey to the world-famous Loch Ness, where you will join a cruise to the ruins of the 13th century Urquhart Castle. Free time to enjoy lunch in one of the charming local cafés in beautiful Beauly and walk it off exploring Beauly Priory; featured in the Outlander book 'Dragonfly in Amber'. Next, there will be a Highland whisky experience. Discover at your leisure how 'uisge beatha' (the 'water of life') is made and explore the history behind one of Scotland's most iconic exports. Local whisky experts are on hand to answer questions. Whisky Dram Flights are from £12 and Whisky Cocktails are from £8, pay locally.

Listen to tales of the Jacobite rebellions and the brutal Battle of Culloden, on our visit to Culloden Battlefield. Outlander fans will love the mysterious burial chambers and standing stones at Clava Cairns. When you’ve heard the harrowing history behind the Outlander story, you might not want to travel back in time to meet Jamie Fraser after all! Return to Inverness in the early evening.

Check-in: 8:15am at 15 Union Street, Inverness, IV1 1PP (Across from the entrance to the Victorian Market). Look out for a blue or yellow bus.
Adults / Students must be over 18.

We operate a minimum numbers policy
We cannot guarantee that those who booked together will be sitting next to each other on the coach as we do not allocate seats.
Please be on time returning to the coach for all itinerary stops.
Collapsible wheelchairs can be accommodated when accompanied by someone who can assist them to board and disembark.
Checking in for your Tour
Please just bring your Reference Number and photographic ID.
Please note that for any tours visiting a whisky distillery, photographic ID (Drivers Licence or Passport) may be required to ensure participation in the whisky tasting activity.
Students must also bring a must also bring a valid ISIC/ISE/ITIC or you will be charged the full price for your tour and an administration fee of 25 GBP.
Baggage Allowance
1 x medium case / + 1 x sma x small carry-on bag. Maximum 15 kg.
Travel insurance cover is not included in your tour. It is advisable for you to have travel insurance.
