Overview

Our Jacobite Steam Train tour departs from Inverness, starting with a journey along the world-famous Loch Ness and stopping for photos above the ruins of Urquhart Castle. We continue south and visit the Commando Memorial which overlooks the Nevis Range, home to the UK’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis. Next, it’s time to set your sights upon the Jacobite Steam Train and hop aboard the train at Fort William.

Your journey through magnificent landscapes will end in the fishing port of Mallaig where you can try fresh seafood for lunch or explore the town.

Watch as awe-inspiring scenery unfolds before you as we take the stunning ‘Road to the Isles’ en route to the charming Highland village of Fort Augustus. Here, we get the chance to explore the Caledonian Canal and take a stroll by the shores of Loch Ness. Finally, we visit Dores Beach on the banks of Loch Ness, arriving back into Inverness in the evening.

Know before you go

9:00 am meeting at 15 Union Street, Inverness, IV1 1PP (Across from the entrance to the Victorian Market).
The minimum tour age is 5
We operate a minimum numbers policy
We cannot guarantee that those who booked together will be sitting next to each other on the coach as we do not allocate seats.
Please be on time returning to the coach for all itinerary stops. The guide will have the time displayed on a clock
Collapsible wheelchairs can be accommodated when accompanied by someone who can assist them to board and disembark.
Checking in for your Tour
Please just bring your Reference Number and photographic ID.
Please note that for any tours visiting a whisky distillery, photographic ID (Drivers Licence or Passport) may be required to ensure participation in the whisky tasting activity.
Students must also bring a must also bring a valid ISIC/ISE/ITIC or you will be charged the full price for your tour and an administration fee of 25 GBP.
Baggage Allowance
1 x medium case / + 1 x sma x small carry-on bag. Maximum 15 kg.
Travel insurance cover is not included in your tour. It is advisable for you to have travel insurance.
